“A pint with Sewell Moody”

For this design concept we looked back to the early days of logging, camp life, and sawmill culture in Port Moody and wider British Columbia. We explored the machinery and architecture of sawmills and campsites of hardworking loggers from the late 1800s to WWll. We drew from industrial era fixtures and silhouettes that were raw and rough, like that of a round saw blade. We brought warmth and durability to these elements with flannels, military canvas and plaid patterns for soft seating. The layout evokes a vintage ‘mess hall’ akin to a loggers camp style gathering to share a pint after a long day.
