Granville Street Live/Work Condo

With an 18’ high framed pinnacle view of the fairmont hotel Vancouver’s roof top and the Georgia street hotel heritage brownstone building, the Hudson building’s unit 604 on Granville street is designed to feel like a rooftop ‘garden of the gods’ for the close proximity to the clouds drifting across the sky atop some of Vancouver’s most historic and celebrated buildings.

A monochromatic sunny palette of warm custom white oak Millwork, cloud whites, and a textured warm grey clay feature wall set the interior tone with knurled brass accents for bright gold sun like reflection points. Turkish striated grey, purple, and gold Marble splashes across the kitchen walls and waterfall island in a bold gregarious pattern against the calm base palette backdrop. Glass and matte-black railings were added for an airy feeling to the loft above the living area. A 4’ diameter red cedar carved wood disc is the custom collaboration between Studio Series and Douglas Reynolds Gallery’s master carver Rande Cooke that graces the feature clay wall and glints in the changing light from the copper medallions imbedded into the wood.

The west coast greens and blues and purples come to life in the custom Suzanne Quirke 5’ tall painting of the lions gate bridge and north shore mountains on the opposite wall. Velvet accent pillows are dotted below on the couch bringing together the colours of the painting and the marble in the adjacent open kitchen area. Each bathroom is a different jungle inspired indoor /outdoor interpretive experience for spa-like bathing.
