Pennyroyal Coffee

THE GOAL:

To attract local coffee brew lovers and inspire a chill environment in hastings sunrise for people to experience unique Indonesian coffee blends, and international types of beans over time, along with unique baking treats made in house. Rrecipes are from overseas, but rooted in traditional appeal for everyone’s favourite treat. Try the sesame chocolate chip cookie.

THE CONCEPT:

Cozy, slow, homey, warm, laid back, authentic and imperfect. Designed To feel like time stands still while you’re in the space. Reminiscent of Paris or Tokyo or perhaps SoCal, even all three at once, the question desired to be most asked: “Can I live here?”

• Thoughtful Spatial Choreography – varying seating options create a homey vibe

• Normalities Defied – original ceiling t-bar had to remain so rated wood skin veneers were added

• Custom tailoring – hand troweled walls and hand laid bricks

• Experiential –Indonesian meets the pacific northwest

• Sustainable Eco-Design focus – clay walls, textured palette, sapele and walnut wood
